Dr. Qavi joined UCI as faculty in January of 2023.  He completed his undergraduate studies at UCI, followed by physician scientist training at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.  He subsequently did his residency training and postdoctoral research at Washington University in St. Louis.  His lab focuses on the development of optical sensors for viruses taking advantage of advances in photonic resonators and plasmonic technologies.
